Missed Apple’s September 9 event? Phone Repair Guy did the homework for you. Here are the differences that matter.
U.S. starting prices: iPhone 18 Pro, $1,199. Pro Max, $1,299. Foldable iPhone Duo, $1,999. All start with 256 gigabytes; prices are before tax and offers.
The 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro pairs the A20 Pro chip with three 48-megapixel rear cameras. Its new variable aperture adjusts how much light enters the main camera.
For $100 more, Pro Max gives you a 6.9-inch screen and longer rated battery life. You get the same Pro chip and rear camera system in a larger phone.
Duo opens from a 5.4-inch outer screen to a 7.6-inch inner display. Run two apps side by side. Its $1,999 starting price buys a different form factor, not the Pro’s telephoto camera.
Both Pro models have a dedicated telephoto camera and a variable-aperture main camera. Duo has main and ultrawide rear cameras, with no dedicated telephoto.
Apple rates video playback up to 36 hours on Pro and 45 on Pro Max. Duo is up to 44 hours on its outer display, or 31 on the inner display. These are Apple test figures; actual use varies.
All three use A20 Pro. Apple says Siri AI is rolling out in English. Check availability for your language and region before buying for one specific AI feature.
Pro and Pro Max preorders start September 12, with availability September 18. Duo preorders start October 16, with availability October 23. These are Apple’s U.S. dates.
Our take: choose Pro for a smaller phone with pro cameras. Choose Pro Max for more screen and battery. Consider Duo if two-app multitasking is worth the premium to you.
If your phone still meets your needs, keeping it may make sense. If the problem is a battery or screen, ask PRG for an evaluation and compare repair costs before upgrading.
