Unplug the charging cable. Stop using or charging the phone if it is unusually hot, swollen, smoking, hissing, smells burned, or was recently submerged. Do not force a cable into the port, apply external heat, or insert pins, paper, cotton or liquid cleaner.
What the water-drop warning means
Samsung explains that supported Galaxy devices stop USB charging when moisture above a set point is detected. This protects the phone from damage and corrosion. The warning can appear after direct liquid contact, but Samsung also notes that high humidity or moisture in the charging cable can trigger it.
Disconnect the cable before troubleshooting. Note whether the warning appeared after rain, a spill, a humid room, a wet cable or no known exposure. Water resistance does not make it safe to charge through a wet connector.

Dry the phone without heat or improvised tools
Wipe the outside with a dry cloth. Samsung advises placing the phone on a cloth in a well-ventilated area or using a fan. If you gently move the phone with the port facing down, avoid excessive shaking or force.
Do not use a hair dryer, oven, compressed air, rice or an object inside the USB port. External heat and probing can damage the connector, seals or battery, while rice cannot inspect or remove corrosion inside the device.

If the phone is dry but still will not charge
When the device is completely dry and safe to use, restart it and try a different dry, compatible cable in a dry room. Samsung says charging trouble can involve the battery, cable, adapter, wireless charger, USB port, moisture detection or device temperature.
If Samsung Members is available, its Phone diagnostics can check battery status, cable charging and wireless charging. Menus vary by model and software version. A diagnostic result is useful evidence, but it does not replace a physical inspection when the connector is loose, damaged, corroded or hot.

Wireless charging is a temporary option for supported models

Wireless charging does not repair a wet, corroded or damaged USB port. Do not use it when the phone is hot, swollen, physically damaged or unsafe. If the warning returns or wired charging remains unreliable after everything is dry, arrange an evaluation.
