If your Galaxy screen is badly cracked, don’t keep tapping and pressing it just to see if it still works. First make sure the phone is safe to handle. Don’t press, peel or glue the broken screen
Loose glass can cut you, and pressure can make display damage spread. Don’t push black spots, colored lines or loose glass to test them. Don’t add glue, liquid cleaner or heat. A smooth temporary cover may help contain small loose pieces during careful transport, but it does not repair the screen or make the phone water resistant.
Samsung’s physical-damage guidance explains that cracks, dead areas and bleeding pixels can follow an impact. A phone can still ring or vibrate even when the display or touch layer is damaged. Tell us what you can still see or hear instead of repeatedly testing the broken area.
Tell us exactly what still works
Check only what you can check safely. Does the phone show a picture? Does touch work everywhere? Are there black patches, green or pink lines, flickering, ghost touches or no image at all? Can it receive calls, vibrate or make sounds? These details help separate visible glass damage from display, touch or other hardware problems.
Get the full model name and storage size from Settings, the original box or your Samsung account when possible. Galaxy S, A, Note, Z Flip and Z Fold parts are not interchangeable. A model name such as Galaxy S20 Ultra is more useful than saying only “Samsung phone.”

Back up the phone if it is safe and usable
If the display works well enough and the phone is safe, make a current backup before service. If you cannot use the screen, cannot answer calls or your only copy of important files is on the phone, say that before work begins. Don’t factory-reset the phone just to test it. Screen repair and data-recovery evaluation are different priorities, and neither result should be promised before the device is checked.
Use Maintenance Mode only after protecting the data
On supported Galaxy devices, Samsung’s Maintenance Mode can hide photos, contacts and other personal information during service. It creates a separate environment for the repair. It is not the same thing as a backup.
Back up first when you can. If the screen is too damaged to turn on Maintenance Mode, tell us. Keep passwords, PINs and security codes out of the quote form. We do not need those details in a website message.
