Before you approve a screen repair, I would check whether you already have a service plan for that phone. Then compare the actual options for your device. A small crack and a badly damaged screen can both lead to a repair request, but the appearance alone does not tell you the coverage, cost or work needed.
Check the plan attached to this iPhone
If you can safely use the phone, open Settings, choose General, then AppleCare & Warranty and select your device. Apple also provides coverage information through My Support when you sign in to your Apple Account. Use Apple's official pages linked below; do not send us your account password or security codes.
Record the plan name and expiration information for your own reference. If the coverage information looks wrong, ask Apple to check it and keep your purchase receipt available. A coverage lookup is a starting point, not confirmation that a particular screen repair has been approved.
Confirm the service route before agreeing to work
Ask Apple or your plan provider whether this damage is covered, what you would pay, which service providers can handle the claim and what preparation is required. Do not assume that every repair shop can process an AppleCare claim or that an independent repair estimate is an AppleCare service fee.
I would confirm those details before authorizing work anywhere. This guide does not claim that Phone Repair Guy is an Apple Authorized Service Provider or can bill your plan. If you want a PRG estimate, we can discuss the device and symptoms separately from your coverage inquiry.
Compare the same repair, not just two prices
Give each provider the exact model and the same description: cracked glass, missing image, touch trouble, frame damage, or any other symptom. Mention previous repairs and liquid exposure without guessing which part failed.
Ask what the estimate includes, whether inspection can change it, whether a diagnostic charge applies, which display option is proposed and what functions will be tested. Get the applicable repair terms and any exclusions in writing. Ask how additional work is approved. Do not assume parts are in stock or that a quoted turnaround is guaranteed.
- Device model and observed symptoms
- Proposed repair and parts
- Total and any diagnostic charge
- Approval process if other damage is found
- Testing and written repair coverage
- Confirmed appointment or availability
Protect the files and account access too
If the phone is safe and usable, check your backup before handing it over. If you cannot use the display, say that you cannot verify a backup; do not erase it or enter commands blindly to complete a preparation checklist.
Apple's service guidance says to keep passwords, passcodes and account-security details private. When legitimate software support requires you to enter credentials, stay present and enter them yourself. Follow the selected provider's current preparation instructions rather than turning off security features simply to request a quote.
For PRG help, choose Davie, Tamarac or Fort Lauderdale / Swap Shop below. Tell us the screen symptoms, backup status and whether you are still checking an existing service plan. We can discuss an evaluation without pretending that a coverage lookup establishes the diagnosis.

Common questions
Does an active plan mean this repair is free?
Do not assume that. Confirm eligibility, the applicable charge and the service provider with Apple or your plan provider before approving work.
Can I send my Apple password with the quote request?
No. Keep passwords, passcodes and verification codes out of forms and messages. Use official account pages yourself.
What if I cannot open Settings because the screen is broken?
Apple offers My Support online for coverage details. Tell the repair provider that you cannot operate the phone or verify a backup; do not reset it just to check coverage.
